The following are just a few samples of the flies used to catch Pike.  There are many variations to these, both in size, materials and colour used.  If you tie your own, which I hope you all will eventually, the sky's the limit as far as Fly innovation goes!

Bearing in mind that animal and bird materials tend to hold water, the use of Man Made materials seems like a good option.  The only problem is, nothing imitates movement better than animal & bird materials!  However, some new materials such as EP Fibres and DNA have virtually eliminated that problem and are rapidly becoming the norm.  The following patterns lean heavily towards the use of Mink, Rabbit fur and Marabou, in order to get that all important movement into the flies!
